{"id":131,"date":"2008-10-27T22:15:51","date_gmt":"2008-10-28T02:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.justdave.net\/dave\/?p=131"},"modified":"2008-10-27T22:15:51","modified_gmt":"2008-10-28T02:15:51","slug":"finally-drm-free-anime-from-toei","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.justdave.net\/dave\/2008\/10\/27\/finally-drm-free-anime-from-toei\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally, DRM-free anime from Toei"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;ve read any of my previous blog posts about Anime stuff, you&#8217;ll probably know that I&#8217;m a big fan of the Pretty Cure series.<\/p>\n<p>Stuff like <a title=\"Toei Animation Adds Anime to Crunchyroll Website Today\" href=\"http:\/\/www.animenewsnetwork.com\/news\/2008-10-27\/toei-animation-adds-anime-to-crunchyroll-website-today\" target=\"_blank\">this<\/a> makes my day.<\/p>\n<p>Toei publishing Anime (even Pretty Cure) in North America with English subtitles is nothing new.\u00c2\u00a0 They&#8217;ve had it up on Direct2Drive for a while now.\u00c2\u00a0 What&#8217;s new is the episodes that will be posted on Crunchyroll will be available DRM-free!\u00c2\u00a0 Starting this Wednesday, you can either watch a stream online for free (with commercials) or purchase the uninterrupted episodes to download for US$1.99 each, in XVid, iPod, or PSP formats, with <strong>NO DRM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I am <strong>so<\/strong> going to buy every episode they post.\u00c2\u00a0 Not only just to express my appreciation for creating this awesome series (now that they&#8217;re giving me a way to do so) but also to show my support for finally distributing it in a way that doesn&#8217;t require me to sell my soul to Microsoft to be able to watch it.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you Toei for finally understanding the Internet!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;ve read any of my previous blog posts about Anime stuff, you&#8217;ll probably know that I&#8217;m a big fan of the Pretty Cure series.
